The PROVIDE project examines various risk scenarios for high levels of global warming and the possible irreversible effects of exceeding the 1.5-degree climate target in the Paris Agreement. This includes rising sea levels, melting of permafrost and glaciers, and the loss of species on land and at sea.

FACE-IT aims to enable adaptive co-management of social-ecological fjord systems in the Arctic in the face of rapid cryosphere and biodiversity changes.
 

This project will increase our knowledge of how the local tourism industry can create new opportunities as they respond to the ongoing transformative changes of Svalbard’s society and environment and contribute to the development of the analytical concepts of transformation and adaptation.
