Hilde Åsheim researches the governance and organization of welfare services, with a focus on the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration (NAV), child welfare services, youth, social exclusion, and education. Åsheim has worked in the Norwegian child welfare services and been a lecturer in social work. With her background and extensive experience from the practice field, Åsheim holds a solid understanding of the assignments and responsibilities of various societal actors in Norway.

Education

Hilde Åsheim holds a PhD in Sociology from Nord University. Her doctoral dissertation, "Aktiveringspolitikkens ekko: Om unge med psykiske lidelser i arbeidsavklaringsprosesser i NAV" (in Norwegian) examines how young people with mental disorders are activated, organised, and governed through the NAV’s employment assessment processes.
